Before knowing how the various components of communication can help us, lets us first define communication.

The sender is also called the encoder, any communications start with the sender themselves and they are the people who send a message. Encoder means one that converts the information/message into a particular form that is understandable by the receiver.

A message is an idea or information that the sender wants to send. In Communication, the process begins with deciding about the message to be conveyed. It must be ensured that the main objective of the message is clear.

Channel is also known as the medium. It is the means that is used to exchange the message. The sender must choose an appropriate medium or channel to transmit the message, else, the message will not reach the desired person.

Feedback is any response to a communicated message. Feedback is important during communication because it helps the sender to make any necessary adjustments so that the message is correctly received.

Communication is the foundation of all human relationships. One should be a good listener so that they can be good at communication
As a student, it is not difficult to communicate in a classroom, but if you learn the various components of communication you can build on the foundational communication skills, and undoubtedly this can benefit you as a student and earn good grades in the class. Good communication skills can benefit one in their academics and help them reach their future goals as well. Aside from earning good grades, one might simply want to be good at communication. Learning and understanding the different components of communication can always help you achieve that. Research shows that students who have good communication skills are more confident and these students have a higher grades and are less likely to drop out of school. Whether it is interpersonal communication with the classmate and professor, individual or group presentation or listening helps to build our communication skills and knowledge that can be carried through our life.
In professional life, communication skills vary from career to career. Employees appreciate good listening skills and the ability to communicate properly and clearly because efficiency and clarity are often tied directly to productivity and success and profit for the company. In such a competitive world and work area, if one is not able to communicate properly with their employees as well as customers, they will no longer have their job. If one knows how to communicate, it gives you the edge to stand out from other employees. One must know how and when they should speak, what to speak, and what not to, how to approach people, how to handle people. This will make your job better.
In a democratic society, civic engagements are very important. Civic Engagement refers to working to make a difference in our communities by improving the quality of life of community members; raising awareness about social, cultural, or political issues; or participating in a wide variety of political and nonpolitical processes. But what if you are not able to communicate your message in the right manner without hurting anyone belonging to any group or community. Here is where communication components play an important role, one must make sure that the message they want to spread is understandable by the audience, there is no point speaking a language that the people don't understand, it might only cause further misunderstandings. One must make sure that they have the right and correct information with them. One must make sure that they use the right tone of voice to speak and their body language is also justifiable and feedback should also be given. Discussions and decisions that affect our communities happen around us all the time, but it takes time and effort to become a part of that process. If one wants to become a public speaker they must have good interpersonal as well as group communication skills.
